For Top Gear USA Season 5, First Frame facilitated the first overseas expedition of the Top Gear USA crew, bringing hosts Tanner Foust, Adam Ferrara, and Rutledge Wood to Germany for the ultimate high-speed road trip, titled "Need for Speed."
The episode put three Volkswagen Group performance cars head-to-head: a 2015 Volkswagen Golf R, a Porsche 911 Carrera 4S, and a 2014 Lamborghini Huracán. Three entirely different concepts, from everyday hot hatch to supercar, tested under real conditions on some of Europe's most famous roads and circuits. The route took the hosts through Wolfsburg, Hannover, Goslar, and Stuttgart before hitting the Nürburgring and the unrestricted sections of the German Autobahn — the only place on earth where a Lamborghini can be driven at full speed on a public road.
First Frame coordinated all local production services for the complex vehicle shoots, managing high-speed filming on public roads, access to closed high-speed circuits, and location logistics across several German states.
Top Gear USA was one of the most successful international adaptations of the iconic BBC brand, broadcast worldwide on BBC Worldwide and the History Channel.
