For Amazon's original reality adventure series The Pack, First Frame took on the full service production for the Vienna episode — managing over 190 crew members across three shooting days at some of the city's most iconic and logistically demanding locations.
The Pack is a celebration of the world's most enduring partnership — humans and their dogs. Hosted by Gold Medalist skier Lindsey Vonn and her dog Lucy, 12 teams of dogs and their human companions compete in fun and exciting challenges across international destinations.
Vienna provided the perfect stage. Filming took place among others at Schloss Schönbrunn, the Wiener Riesenrad at the Prater, Café Landtmann, Kursalon Hübner, the Stadtpark, Esterhazy Keller, and the Augarten Palais — home of the Vienna Boys' Choir. First Frame's long-standing relationship with the Vienna Boys' Choir made their involvement in the episode's challenge design possible — an access that would not have been achievable without years of trust and collaboration.
The production featured a technically ambitious camera setup: a fleet of ARRI Alexa Mini cameras running simultaneously — a comparatively rare camera configuration for a reality and adventure format of this scale. Director Tony Croll and DoP Scott Duncan brought a cinematic eye to the format, with a helicopter providing continuous aerial coverage over Vienna throughout the shooting days, integrating the city's breathtaking skyline and landmarks into the visual language of the series.
Coordinating simultaneous challenge stations across multiple public and heritage locations, with international crews and local authorities, within a highly dynamic production schedule made this one of First Frame's most complex Vienna productions to date. Country Producer Jack Walworth led the local coordination alongside First Frame's team.
The Pack was produced by Renegade 83 for Amazon Prime Video and released worldwide — filmed on location in Austria and across the globe. The spirit of the show extended beyond the camera: First Frame organised a generous donation by Amazon to support a local family in financing a trained assistance dog for their child — a life-changing contribution whose significant costs would otherwise not have been possible.
